With the recent trade that went down bringing Billups and Carmelo Anthony to the Knicks, it seems there is one more question that Knicks fans should have. Will Billups ever even play for the Knicks?
Billups firmly stated he wanted to end his career in his home of Denver and post retirement become a part of the front office. Well, things have certainly taken a toll and he resides in the Big Apple currently. But, with the trade deadline nearing, will Billups be dealt again, giving him the best opportunity to finish his career back in Denver where he thoroughly wants to be? If that happens, where do the Knicks turn for a starting point guard? Toney Douglas certianly has not shown he is a starter in this league and can seldomly get the second unit into any offensive flow.
In my honest opinion, today the Knicks need to scramble to try and get a point guard who is worthy of a starting job and actually land a big man who can solidify the five spot. Luke Rindnour? Joel Pryzbilla? We shall see.
