Landry Fields is the steal of the draft and the early front runner for the Rookie of the Year award. Preseason front runner John Wall has struggled to stay healthy, while Blake Griffin in my mind is in his second season so that leaves Landry Fields as the front runner. The intangibles that Fields brings to the court are something that his numbers do not reflect (11 ppg, 9 rpg, 1.6 spg and .4 bpg) even though he is nearly averaging a double/double. However, whenever there is a lose ball there is Fields diving for it, whenever there's a long rebound there's Fields around the ball, and whenever there's a fast break there's Fields getting the nice feed from Raymond Felton (see video below).
Bottom line is the Knicks have won nine straight and they have two major tests this week hosting Boston and Miami (both games on ESPN as well as MSG). The world will now get to see just how valuable a player Landry Fields is.
Not to mention the Knicks can earn some serious respect this week with two solidly played games and at least one win. They are calling it "Dream Week" I am calling it "Respect Week" if you want it you have to earn it....LET'S GO KNICKS!!!
